First, power off the printer and unplug it for a few minutes. Then, check for any obstructions like paper scraps, tape, or foreign objects within the carriage path. Manually move the print head carriage to see if it's stuck. Inspect the encoder strip (a clear plastic strip) for damage or dirt. Clean the encoder strip gently with a soft, lint-free cloth. Finally, ensure the printer is placed on a stable, level surface and plug the printer back in, and turn it on again.
