What are FortiGuard DDoS signatures and how do they protect against known attacks?

FortiGuard DDoS signatures are pre-defined patterns of malicious traffic associated with known DDoS attack techniques. FortiGate uses these signatures to identify and block traffic matching these patterns. FortiGuard signatures are regularly updated to provide protection against the latest DDoS threats, but also require configuration and enabling of the IPS engine.
