If I'm not mistaken, The unit price of the gloves per pair is 1.15$.
He mentions he bought 7 dozen of gloves, meaning 7(12) since there are 12 in each dozen.
so his mistake was dividing by each dozen into the final amount versus each pair so it would look like...
7(12)x =96.60
84x = 96.60 divide both sides by 84....
x = 1.15$ per pair of gloves.
